Don't believe the Greens

Former Keating Government Minister Gary Johns tells it like it is about the Greens. This is a courageous op-ed piece by Johns in The Australian today, as he knows it will be Greens preferences which get Labor across the line in many marginal seats. But we should be afraid, very afraid, of the types of policies the Greens want in place and we should be asking questions about the nature of the deal between the ALP and Greens for those preferences.

Its a Tax, not a tax cut Ms Gillard
The attempt over the weekend to spin the Carbon Tax as a 'tax cut' is just more of the spin we can expect to see from the Government as it tries to impose its Carbon Tax without a mandate and without popular support. The Australian late today reports that none of the impacts of the Carbon Tax or the so-called tax cuts will form part of the Budget or the proposed Summit. This is, of course ridiculous with the Budget presuming to portray revenues and expenditures over the four year forward estimates.
