Julia Gillard mine tax 'to deliver $8bn less than forecast'

While there have been question marks on whether the coalition will deliver a $4.5 billion surplus or an $11 bn surplus, Labor's projected surplus is under a cloud according to global resources intelligence firm, Intierra which found revenue from the Gillard government's proposed mining tax faces an $8 billion shortfall. According to The Australian this raises fears a Labor-Greens alliance would be forced to raise or expand the levy to meet budget forecasts. Tell us what you think and sign the petition.

Its a Tax, not a tax cut Ms Gillard
The attempt over the weekend to spin the Carbon Tax as a 'tax cut' is just more of the spin we can expect to see from the Government as it tries to impose its Carbon Tax without a mandate and without popular support. The Australian late today reports that none of the impacts of the Carbon Tax or the so-called tax cuts will form part of the Budget or the proposed Summit. This is, of course ridiculous with the Budget presuming to portray revenues and expenditures over the four year forward estimates.
