Super Tax is Swan and Gillard Policy too - keep the pressure on

Make no mistake, the super tax on our entire economy is not just Kevin Rudd policy. Current PM Julia Gillard and Deputy/Treasurer Wayne Swan were part of the tax decision. Some sources say that the Treasurer was the one fighting any compromise.

The weekend papers carried stories that Mr Rudd had been close to sealing a compromise deal on his proposed mining profits tax before he was dumped, but had been having difficulty convincing the Treasurer, Mr Swan, of the desirability of compromise.

The Government says the door is open, but until the tax is dead, out of the budget papers or significantly curtailed, they are not being fair dinkum about genuine negotiation. Through ComeonAustralia, you can keep the Government talks honest and keep the pressure on.
