A bad day at the office for Gillard

Check out these headlines today: "Stimulus grants favoured ALP seats", "Pat McGorry criticises Labor mental health plan", "Julia Gillard says sorry for using disabled man's image in election pamphlet without permission", "Desperate youths left behind", "Gillard opposed parental leave - report" "Suicide prevention plans short of the mark."

It wasn't all one-way traffic, with the Coalition having to explain why its Parental leave plan is based on the lower of the two partners wages, but whichever way you look at it, this is a bad day at the office for the PM. The other one that caught your correspondent's eye was "Rudd confirms backing for Gillard". Is that actually a good thing?

Its a Tax, not a tax cut Ms Gillard
The attempt over the weekend to spin the Carbon Tax as a 'tax cut' is just more of the spin we can expect to see from the Government as it tries to impose its Carbon Tax without a mandate and without popular support. The Australian late today reports that none of the impacts of the Carbon Tax or the so-called tax cuts will form part of the Budget or the proposed Summit. This is, of course ridiculous with the Budget presuming to portray revenues and expenditures over the four year forward estimates.
