Welcome to our Election2010 Blog

Welcome to our new election blog. We'll be discussing how the parties are going, getting views from around the net, but most importantly looking at how the parties are responding to the issues that count for you.
Use this space to discuss any issues that might influence your vote and we'll see what other ComeOn participants think.
Remember, robust debate is good, personal insults and swearing is bad. We will try to keep the discussion going with as little moderation as possible if participants respect the space.
We'll be looking for volunteer blog administrators who might want to scan the election issues for their State and local areas. If you share our general views and think you can offer an hour or so each week to contribute, start by participating in our blog by commenting or sending suggested posts. If you are willing, send us a brief note via our contacts page with your contact details so we can get in contact.
2010 is one of the most bizarre elections in living memory. Neither Leader led their Parties this time last year, but both have been prominent and powerful figures. Tony Abbott started the end of Kevin Rudd's short era as Prime Minister and Julia Gillard, one of the so-called gang of four decision makers in the Government, struck the final blow just four weeks ago. A recent Galaxy Poll suggests widespread voter dissatisfaction with both major parties. But we have to choose one of them. See George Megalogenis's commentary on the divided nation of voters.
In the absence of any policies so far, our first question is: What do you think of the campaign slogans? Do they really address what you are thinking? Is Julia Gillard really moving forward, or just afraid of her past? Tony Abbott wants you to take direct action and stand up for Australia (the second half is a copy of ComeOn's tag line). What is he taking direct action on?
