We've had a great start to our No election, No Carbon Tax petition, but we need many more people to sign.
Please forward this email and the link to all your friends and tell them why they should sign the petition.
We know that Julia Gillard is determined to Carbon Tax you despite promising not to. If we act together we might defeat it.
Only people power will defeat the tax or make the Government answer for it at an election. We need your help to tell your friends and convince them to sign the petition.
Make no mistake, the Gillard Carbon Tax will affect families and small businesses:
- Household electricity bills will increase by $300 per year . (source Treasury. The Australian 26/2/11).
- The NSW Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal said it will be higher and estimates small business power bills will rise from $9432 per year to $15,091. (source The Australian 26/2/11).
- The Government has admitted that transport fuels are being considered in the tax. That’s an extra 6.5 cents per litre on your family and business fuel bills. (source ABC Lateline 25/2/11)
It doesn’t matter if you believe in climate change or not. This tax won't solve the problem and the PM promised NOT to impose it.
We will lose Australian jobs to countries that won’t reduce emissions, Australians will pay bigger power bills, and in the end world emissions won’t change. In fact they will probably increase.
What can you do to stop this madness?
- Forward this email to as many friends as possible and ask them to sign the petition.
- Once you've signed the petition keep an eye out for the various public rallies. We will try to post event information on our site.
