ComeOn is committed to assisting you to participate in our campaigns in a way that also safeguards privacy. Of course, we are a campaign and advocacy organisation so some information collection is necessary.

Information collection policy

ComeOn collects some personal information necessary to help you participate in effective campaigns and to keep you up to date with our activities and future opportunities to get involved. Members only participate in those campaigns they choose, so details are only used where you have provided permission.

In order to improve our campaigns and response with and for you we collect:

Information provided by you – ComeOn collects your name and email address so you can participate in campaigns and be updated with current news. You can unsubscribe or change your details by using links on each email, unsubscribe through the members registration page or by sending an email to us via the contact form. Any extra information you choose to provide in the course of ComeOn actions and surveys is stored securely. When you send us an email we may use the information it contains in order to respond to your inquiry or suggestion.

For Campaign and Website improvement – ComeOn might collect information about how people use our site and respond to our communications so we can improve how we serve members and make our campaigns better. This is not personalised information.

Information Security

ComeOn safeguards its website and data to protect against unauthorised access or other risks.

We won't provide your information to third parties without your permission.

ComeOn does not provide personal information to any other organisation except:

Where the campaign tool explicitly requires it, e.g emails and petitions sent through our site. In that case we restrict information to the minimum necessary to meet the requirement and, of course, you provide the permission by entering the relevant information;
For financial transactions such as donations where necessary (e.g to verify credit cards);
Comments or uploaded content that you provide that is intended to be public; or
where disclosure is required by law, including disclosure to the Australian Electoral Commission.

If, outside this Privacy Statement, we feel that your details might be necessary to help a campaign or assist in responding to any enquiry, we will contact you in order to seek your permission.

Access to personal information is restricted to ComeOn employees and volunteers and even that group is kept deliberately small. All individuals with access to data are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may change from time to time. Most changes will be minor, but nonetheless we will post any Privacy Policy changes on this page and, if the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice.
