Australian senate takes aim at mining tax

Senate Report says despite new Prime Minister Julia Gillard's promise to work with the industry in forming a new tax, the latest changes have again been exposed to no consultation with most of the affected sector. The report said: "Moreover, 'policy by deal' with selected large companies, is no way to develop a robust and meaningful reform in the public interest.
